Implosion

"In the womb of fear,
When I relish in your plight with glee......
Teetering on the precipice of death,
Will you think of me ?

Listen to your screams
Listen to your fervent pleas for mercy....
When you look into the mirror and see the grim reaper approaching,
In your horror, will you think of me ?"

"I'm very afraid, very cold....
Relish in my pain all you will....
This too shall pass, say wise men of old.

I won't show fear, I won't scream for you
You are but my own reflection, and I desist you.

If at all this ends. If at all I manage to set myself free.
I'll look down and snigger at you- proud in the knowledge that I looked you in the eye and didn't flee.

You can break my bones, but not my soul.
You can feel powerful. But you are me.
In the end, you'll lose."

  1. 'Womb of fear'..... such words can come out only from the womb of exquisite creativity. Poems on conflict have become ur forte. The conflict of man within and without is a subject which you master sublimely. Keep writing and venturing into the deeper depths of the poet within you :)
